Chelsea have made a late move to try to sign attacker Bernard, who is due for a medical with Everton.

Chelsea have reportedly lodged a late bid to try to snap up attacker Bernard from under the noses of Everton.
According to Sky Sports on their live transfer centre (8:12 am, 7 August), Chelsea have made a late attempt to try to sign the 25-year-old, who is a free agent after leaving Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer.
However, the report adds that the Brazilian is currently en route to Everton and is set for a medical within the next 48 hours ahead of a switch to Goodison Park.
It is understood that AC Milan, Atletico Madrid and West Ham have all been keen on the player’s signature too this summer.
Bernard is an in-demand player following his time with Shakhtar and the wide man was in great form last season.

The left winger made 29 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring 10 goals and supplying four assists in return.
Everton appear to be in the driving seat to land Bernard, but will be wary of a late hijack from Premier League giants Chelsea.
Toffees manager Marco Silva so far this summer has made two high-profile additions in the shape of Richarlison from Watford and Lucas Digne from Barcelona.
