Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld is reportedly being targeted by Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich could reportedly move for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld this month if they lost their current centre-back Jerome Boating.
According to the Daily Mirror, German champions Bayern have the Spurs first teamer on their radar and could still make a move for him this month.
It is understood that there could be a vacancy at the Bundesliga side if Paris Saint-Germain manage to sign Boateng, with the player already agreeing personal terms with the the French club.
The report says that Alderweireld wanted to quit Spurs last month to join Manchester United, but that deal didn’t go ahead.
Bayern, however, could still offer Alderweireld an escape route, and the 29-year-old may have something to think about having spent a lot of last season on the Tottenham bench.
Alderweireld has proven on his day he is one of the best defenders in the Premier League, and has been an important part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side in recent years. The Belgium international enjoyed a decent World Cup, and for now looks like he is back in contention for Spurs – but there are still a couple of weeks left for him to potentially depart.
