Some Nottingham Forest fans were raving about midfielder Matty Cash after beating Bury in the Carabao Cup.

Matty Cash starred as Nottingham Forest edged out League Two side Bury in the first round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night – and some of the the club’s supporters were blown away by his performance.
The 21-year-old sent the cup tie to penalties after a stoppage time strike to level the contest at 1-1 and the Championship outfit prevailed 10-9 in the shootout.
Bury took a shock early lead at the City Ground through Eoghan O’Connell and Aitor Karanka’s side were up against it when their goalkeeper Jordan Smith was shown a red card in the first-half for a foul on Dominic Telford.
However, midfielder Cash equalised in the closing stages of the game for 10-man Forest and they reached the second round despite him missing his penalty in the shootout.
The East Midlands club narrowly managed to avoid a cup upset in midweek and will now turn their attention back on the league.
A number of fringe players got the opportunity to show their talents in the cup and central midfielder Cash certainly caught the eye on his second appearance of the season.

Cash has come through the Forest academy and the fan favourite earned rave reviews on social media after his latest display.
