Rangers legend Nacho Novo has wished current manager Steven Gerrard good luck on Instagram ahead of his first league game in charge at the weekend.
The Gers boss is undefeated in his first four matches this season in the Europa League qualifying rounds, which means his side will face Maribor in the third round after edging past NK Osijek on Thursday night.
The Light Blues now turn their attention to the start of domestic competitions and their league campaign begins with a huge trip to Pittodrie to face Aberdeen, who were knocked out of Europe by Premier League side Burnley on Thursday.
Ex-Rangers striker Novo, who remains a popular figure at Ibrox, has posed with Gerrard after the 1-1 draw on the night against Osijek.
“Was nice to see you last night good luck for Sunday let’s go Steven Gerrard,” Novo wrote on his personal Instagram account.

Rangers visit Aberdeen on Sunday afternoon for the league encounter and both teams will be hoping they can put up a title bid this campaign to reigning champions Celtic.
Gerrard’s side have looked defensively solid during the early stages of his manorial career and they will need to be on top of their game to overcome an Aberdeen side that took Burnley to extra-time after two legs.
