Everton could be a midfielder light if Muhamed Besic completes his exit on loan amid reported talks with Middlesbrough.
Everton’s reported pursuit of free agent Miguel Veloso could become a lot more crucial, as they could be about to send Muhamed Besic out on loan.
According to Sky Sports on their transfer centre blog (2:09pm, 20 August), the Toffees have agreed a deal in principle to send midfielder Besic on loan to them for the season.
It is understood that the 25-year-old Toffees ace has been holding talks at the training ground of Championship club Boro.
With Besic’s potential exit on the cards, manager Marco Silva could have a gap in his squad, and be in need of an extra midfield option for this season.
The Merseyside club are interested in signing defensive midfielder Veloso and face competition from Premier League club Wolves for his signature, according to TEAMtalk.
Everton’s reported pursuit for the 32-year-old free agent. Veloso would be an ideal replacement for Besic given the fact he is a no-nonsense defensive midfielder built in a similar mould. He also has top class experience – including 56 international caps for Portugal.
Veloso would provide good competition for current Everton midfielders Idrissa Gueye, Morgan Schneiderlin, Tom Davies and Andre Gomes.
