Manchester United are allegedly set to contact Tottenham Hotspur for defender Toby Alderweireld this week.

Interest in Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld is reportedly set to be ramped up this week after Belgium were knocked out of the World Cup by France on Tuesday night.
Jose Mourinho reportedly views the centre-back as his top target this summer and wanted the deal done before the World Cup, but will commence talks with Spurs imminently and wants to wrap up the move by the end of July.
United are allegedly hoping they can land their man for around £50million, but Tottenham have a valuation of £60million as it stands for one of their star players.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side risk losing the powerhouse defender for just £25million next summer if he does not depart by then, and an exit appears to have been on the cards for some time.

Alderweireld was omitted from Tottenham’s starting XI at the back-end of last season, but he has shown in the last few years he is arguably the most consistent defender in the Premier League.
His partnership with Jan Vertonghen has been formidable, but Davinson Sanchez did manage to slot in well for him last season.
