Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan has signed a new contract at Hillsborough, and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter reacted to the news with great excitement.

The Owls have confirmed that the 28-year-old has agreed a new deal with them and is now under contract until 2021.

His old contract was due to expire at the end of the season, but his future has now been resolved.

Bannan has been a key player for the Yorkshire club in the last few years and has started the new campaign under manager Jos Luhukay in great fashion.

He is a central midfielder who is brilliant in possession and can also provide an attacking threat.
