Frank Lampard’s remarks on Derby County midfielder Mason Mount could be the making of him.

Derby County supporters only have to look at the hype from Chelsea fans to see what a special talent they signed this summer when Mason Mount arrived on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder has already taken the Eredivise by storm on loan with Vitesse Arnhem, and many are tipping him to become an England regular further down the line.
Mount has now received the public backing of Derby Couny manager Frank Lampard, who says that he can become an elite player. Those sort of remarks from an ex-England midfielder of Lampard’s calibre should given the player a major boost.
Mount is already looking sharp in pre-season for the Rams, and showed his attacking qualities with a goal in a victory over Wolves.
“He is going to go to the top and I hate to say and put pressure on him, but I’ve got so much belief in his quality,” Lampard told Derby County’s official Youtube account.
“That is the difference of a midfield player that ends up in the six yard box. Too many midfield players don’t want to go that extra yard and he does.
“Not just that – his work in midfield getting up and down, then he’s got the extra bit to go score goals.”

Mount is a goalscoring midfielder that many feel will make an impact at Stamford Bridge one day, but he is now focused on Derby County and there’s no reason he can’t be a talisman for the club during the new campaign.
He was a key man for Vitesse last season, scoring 13 goals and supplying 10 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions. Mount’s firepower from midfield could see him play a key role for Lampard, and he will hope to hit the ground running.
