Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has become a hugely popular figure during his four-year stint with the club and he committed his future with a new five-year contract back in May.

The 46-year-old has overseen huge improvements at Spurs so far, as his side are now top-four regulars in the Premier League and have a formidable squad of players.

However, the Argentine boss still has a dark cloud hanging over him that he is yet to win silverware with the North London club.

Ex-Spurs defender Ledley King insists that Pochettino still has unfinished business, in the sense that he came to the club to help them win trophies and feels that will be his next goal.

“I think that he’s someone that feels he’s not finished what he came here to do and that’s important whether you’re a player or a manager,” King told the Daily Star.

“He feels that he’s taken the club to the next level and now he wants to go on and win things and be one of the most successful managers the club’s had.”

Spurs fans certainly have full faith in Pochettino and believe he is the right man at the helm, but their trophy drought is a concern for all involved.

They missed their opportunity to pip Leicester City to an unlikely Premier League crown in the 2015/16 campaign and cannot quite go far enough in the Champions League.

In reality Tottenham would find it very difficult to win the league title next season due to the fierce competition and the same could be said for in Europe, but surely going all out to win a domestic cup could be the catalyst they need to start becoming regular winners.

Pochettino’s side can certainly achieve success next season with such a talented bunch of players that have brought into the manager’s style of play, but whether they will remains to be seen.
