Defender Declan Rice was West Ham United’s breakout star last season and supporters will be wondering if any of the club’s academy prospects can follow that path in the upcoming campaign.

The Hammers have a great tradition of bringing through talented youngsters and it could be worth new manager Manuel Pellegirni tapping into the Under-23s side again this summer.

According to a report from Football London, West Ham have no intention of sending rising star Nathan Holland out on loan this season.

The 20-year-old has been involved with the first-team this summer, so is there a chance he can make a senior breakthrough in the coming months?

Holland is a left winger who is highly-rated at the London Stadium and only linked up with the academy last summer after leaving Everton.

The English attacker has been impressive when featuring in West Ham’s friendly matches and the attacker is technically very sound, with a good turn of pace.

Holland did manage just one first-team appearance last season in an EFL Cup game and will hope the change of manager opens the door for him.

His only obstacle may be the amount of talented options standing in his way in the Hammers first-team such as Andriy Yarmolenko, Michail Antonio and Robert Snodgrass.
