Harry Redknapp has revealed he would be “surprised” if Tottenham didn’t end up in the top four of the Premier League for the upcoming season, but doesn’t expect them to be in the mix for the title.

Spurs fans are still patiently waiting for the club to kick into gear in this transfer window, but owner Daniel Levy is notoriously late and stubborn when it comes to dealings.

The North London club finished third in the league in the last season, making it three consecutive years of finishing inside the top four.

Ex-Spurs manager Redknapp believes his former side will be in the mix again, but can see two alternative clubs challenging for the title.

“Tottenham are going to be there again,” Redknapp told talkSPORT.

“I’d be surprised in Spurs didn’t make the top four again, I think they’re capable, but I think Liverpool and Man City will fight it out for the Premier League title this year.”

Liverpool and Manchester City appear to be the frontrunners for most people going into a new Premier League season, but Spurs will hope they can go under the radar.

Mauricio Pochettino has a wealth of talent already in his squad and one of the best players in the division through centre-forward Harry Kane.

However, the Argentinian boss is still waiting for his first piece of silverware with Spurs and they are in danger of becoming the nearly men.
