Frank Lampard delivered his verdict on Duane Holmes’ debut for Derby County.

Derby County recorded an emphatic 4-0 victory over Hull City on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup and manager Frank Lampard praised substitute Duane Holmes for his cameo role after the match.
The 23-year-old came off the bench to make his debut for the Rams following his summer move from Scunthorpe United.
He is a right-winger renowned for his trickery and he made an immediate impact for Lampard’s side with an assist during a 19-minute cameo.
Holmes is one of several new players to join the Derby squad for this season and the early signs are that he could be a great addition.
The midfielder is set to increase competition for places in wide areas and will be hoping he can prove himself at Championship level after impressing in League One last season.
Lampard was impressed by Holmes’ impact off the bench and explained he has had to recover from a minor injury.
“Duane was really bright when he came on, again one that has had to work on his fitness because he had a small injury at Scunthorpe before he got here,” Lampard told the club’s official Youtube account.
“He comes on and is straight into the game, comfortable on the ball and makes an assist. To see those individual performances is very pleasing.”

Holmes will be another option for Derby as he gets up to full fitness and he should be competing alongside the likes of Tom Lawrence and Harry Wilson for a starting role.
Derby have won five of their seven games across all competitions so far this campaign under Lampard, with another trip to Hull at the weekend next on their agenda, where they will look to make it back-to-back victories over the Tigers.
