Everton should ramp up reported interest in defender target Martin Hinteregger.

Everton’s defence remains a major concern ahead of the new season and they could do with another centre-back reinforcement.
The Toffees currently have the ageing duo of Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka as options in the heart of defence, while Michael Keane is another at the disposal of manager Marco Silva.
According to BBC Sport, Keane could end up costing the Merseyside club a reported £30million fee and he struggled during his first season at Goodison Park.
Everton are in a transfer battle with West Ham for defender Martin Hinteregger from German club Augsburg, according to the Sun.
The report details that he could cost a bargain £13million and that he has also been on the radar of Inter Milan, but the player would like a taste of the Premier League if he was allowed to leave.

Hinteregger is certainly the sort of signing that could help patch up the Everton back line and, for just £13million, he would be a stunning piece of business if he adapted to English football quickly.
He is a left-footed defender that would give Everton’s defence a strong balance and is a physical figure who is good in the air.
The 25-year-old is a 31-capped Austria international and improving the defence has to be a priority for the Everton manager this summer.
