Everton should plot a move to sign Real Madrid defender Theo Hernandez, with the defender’s exit this summer reportedly on the cards.

Everton will eventually have to think about life after Leighton Baines, and bringing in a new left-back to compete for a spot with him next season makes sense.
Academy prospects Brendan Galloway and Luke Garbutt were previously tipped to succeed Baines at Goodison Park, but neither have developed into top players in recent years after several loan spells.
Everton could consider looking abroad, and turning their attention to Real Madrid’s Theo Hernandez may be a masterstroke by manager Marco Silva.
According to a report from Spanish outlet Marca, the 20-year-old looks set to leave Madrid this summer and the La Liga giants would ideally like a buy-back clause for the defender.
Hernandez is an attack-minded left-back who impressed for Madrid when included last season, as he racked up 23 appearances across all competitions and worked alongside arguably the world’s best full-back in Marcelo.
It seems a no-brainer for Everton to at least try to secure a deal for the Frenchman, as they have shown in the past they are willing to spend big and he fits the profile perfectly for the Merseyside club.

Everton are a club that are aiming to become European regulars and they play in the most competitive domestic league in the world, something they need to try to sell to Madrid’s youngster.
Baines, 33, is by no means done in an Everton shirt and could prove vital under Silva, but having a huge rising star in the shape of Hernandez to compete with would only be a positive.
