Eddie Gray has raved about the quality of Leeds United ace Mateusz Klich in his early season performances.

Eddie Gray believes that Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich has made a brilliant start to the new season and feels he could become a permanent feature in the starting XI.

The 28-year-old has started the first two league games of the season for the Whites and is becoming a key player for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

He netted in both victories over Stoke City and Derby County; results that have sent out a real statement to the rest of the division.

Klich endured a difficult first season at Elland Road last year and was even shipped out on loan to FC Utrecht, but he is now firmly back in the first-team mix.

The central midfielder has shown he can have a real influence going forward and is a creator alongside Leeds teammate Samuel Saiz.

Leeds legend Gray is blown away by the start Klich has made to the new campaign and referred to him as a new signing.

“He has started the season tremendously well with the goal against Stoke, gets forward today and scored another goal [against Derby],” Gray told LUTV.

“He is like signing a new player because by his own admission he never started the season well last season it was disappointing for him, but he has burst straight into the forefront now and he will take a bit of replacing.”

Klich spent time out on the fringes at Leeds last season and appears to be making up for lost time now.

The 10-capped Poland international will hope to remain a key component in Bielsa’s team and the early signs are that he can be a good source of goals from midfield for Leeds this season and beyond.
