Dele Alli gave his response to Tottenham Hotspur’s draw in the Champions League group stages.
Tottenham Hotspur play-maker Dele Alli revealed his side will be confident going into the Champions League this season despite a difficult draw on Thursday.
Spurs have been pitted in Group B alongside Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven and Inter Milan in one of the standout groups of the tournament.
The North London club made it to the knockout rounds of the Champions League last season, topping a group that consisted of Borussia Dortmund, Apoel Nicosia and eventual winners Real Madrid.
Tottenham and England international Alli insists that his side will have no fears going into Europe’s elite club competition after a tough draw.
“So the draw is out. It’s going to be another tough Champions League, but we’re looking forward to it,” Alli said, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.
“Looking forward to the challenge and coming up against some of the best teams in the world, and we’re excited.
“We’re confident as well, especially after last year. We had a very difficult group again and we came out on top so we’re looking forward to it.”
Spurs will pit themselves against one of the best in Barcelona, while they have had some famous European nights against Inter in the past.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be desperate to show progress in Europe and last season’s campaign ended by being eliminated by Italian giants Juventus.
Tottenham have made a brilliant start to the domestic campaign with three wins from three in the Premier League, proving that they are a strong unit despite not signing any players in the summer.
