Crystal Palace are reportedly closing in on a deal for midfielder Max Meyer, and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have gone wild about the possibility of signing him.

The 22-year-old free agent is set to undergo a medical on Tuesday ahead of a switch to Selhurst Park, according to the Guardian.

Meyer is currently without a club after leaving Schalke at the end of last season, but he is a four-time Germany international and has built up a solid reputation in the Bundesliga.

Palace are poised to bring the pass master to the Premier League and the attacking midfielder could become an instant favourite with Eagles supporters by the looks of it.

The German youngster has been dubbed a rising star in recent years and been a mainstay in the Schalke team, scoring 22 goals and supplying 24 assists in 192 senior appearances.
