Sheffield United have completed a season long loan deal for Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn.
Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has labelled new signing Ben Woodburn an “exciting young talent” after he joined the club on a season-long loan on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old attacker has made the move to Bramall Lane from Premier League giants Liverpool on a temporary basis, as he goes in search of regular first-team football.
Woodburn is a highly-rated talent at Anfield that is being tipped for big things in the future and he already has seven senior international caps for Wales.
Wilder is delighted with the capture of the teenager and is overall pleased with his side’s transfer business in the summer.
“Regarding Ben, I think it’s a good fit for both clubs,” Wilder told talkSPORT.
“For Liverpool, it’s a young player in his first loan playing at Championship level, and if we go well, at the top end [of the table]. And for us, we’ve got an exciting young talent.
“We’ve done our business and we’re quite happy with what we’ve done. We’re recruited from different areas and we hope we can go well.”
Woodburn is a left-winger that has had a glimpse of senior football at Liverpool with 11 appearances, but has agreed to go out on his first loan.
He is linking up with Sheffield United in the Championship, who will hope they can be pushing for the promotion spots in the upcoming campaign.
The wide man can be a goal threat on his day and a successful loan stint could push him further towards the Liverpool first team.
