Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers expects defender Kristoffer Ajer to develop into a top-class player.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers put his neck on the line by claiming that defender Kristoffer Ajer will become a top-class player in the future, after his display in the draw against Rosenborg.
The Bhoys played out a goalless away draw against the Norwegian side on Wednesday, which meant they progressed to face AEK Athens in the Champions League third qualifying round.
Celtic remain undefeated in their four European matches so far this campaign and have kept three clean sheets to date.
Jack Hendry and Ajer have formed a solid understanding at centre-back for the reigning Scottish champions, with the latter receiving some huge words of praise from the manager.
“Kris will be a top-class player, he has all the attributes. At 20, he is 6ft 5ins, he can pass the ball, and on an evening like this he showed he can defend,” Rodgers said, as quoted by Sky Sports.

Celtic still have Dedryck Boyata to come back into the mix after his World Cup participation and they do have some decent options in defence.
Ajer managed to break into the senior side on a permanent basis in the second half of last season and has not looked back since.
The 20-year-old has impressed Celtic supporters with his composed displays and the heading machine should be boosted by Rodgers’ comments.
He already has four senior international caps for Norway and is set for a big campaign ahead at club level.
