West Bromwich Albion are reportedly battling Derby County to sign Chelsea defender Ola Aina on loan, and some of the Baggies supporters on Twitter are thrilled about the alleged transfer pursuit.

According to the Express and Star, West Brom are looking to take the 21-year-old on loan for the new season and see him as an alternative to previous target Tom James.

The report details the West Midlands club have turned attention to right-back Aina, but the connection of Derby manager Frank Lampard with Chelsea could prove crucial in a potential loan.

West Brom have just sent promising young full-back Kane Wilson to Walsall, leaving Allan Nyom as the main right-back option at The Hawthorns.

They also have versatile defender Craig Dawson as an option, but it looks they are trying to bring in Aina to beef up competition ahead of their season back in the Championship.

Aina is a right-back with brilliant pace and superb attacking intent, but he has not been able to break into the Chelsea first-team.

The defender spent last season out on loan with Hull City and was a regular in their side, meaning he has good experience in the Championship.
