Aston Villa fans have chosen Championship record signing Jonathan Kodjia as the club’s player of the season so far.

Birmingham Mail readers have named Aston Villa summer signing Jonathan Kodjia as the club’s player of the season so far following his Championship record £15m move from Bristol City.
The Ivorian striker has played just three times for the Villans so far with his only goal being a stunning strike in the 1-1 draw with Brentford at Villa Park.
It has been disappointing start to the campaign for the newly relegated Villa as they have managed just one win from their opening eight Championship matches as they currently sit 18th in the table.

But Kodjia’s performances have supposedly been one of the more positive elements of Aston Villa’s early life in the Championship as he just pipped captain Tommy Elphick to be the club’s player of the season so far in the eyes of fans.
The former Bristol City man received an average match rating of 7.0 with Elphick coming in a close second with 6.9 and Rudy Gestede in a respectable third with 6.7 out of 10.

Villa’s ‘Villan’ of the season has been Czech forward Libor Kozak with a rating of 3.8 from his two substitute appearances so far.
Obviously the ratings should not be taken too seriously as Kodjia has only played three matches but at least fans feel he has made a positive start to his Villa career.
