17-year-old forward Joel Asoro has impressed scouts from Newcastle and Arsenal with the clubs considering making a move.

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in Sunderland’s Joel Asoro with chief scout Graham Carr keeping tabs on the youngster following an impressive performance for Sweden Under-21s, according to Expressen.
Arsenal are also interested in the youngster, who made his Premier League debut for the Black Cats in the Wear-Tees derby against Middlesbrough last month.
Born in 1999, Asoro is capable of playing in midfield or attack and has been a regular scorer at youth level for club and country.

The Swedish teenager joined Sunderland from IF Brommapojkarna last summer and is now looking to push for a first team spot under new manager David Moyes this season.
Asoro started his first match for the Wearsiders in the EFL Cup victory over Shrewsbury and put in an encouraging 90 minute performance – twice coming close to opening his first team account during the 1-0 victory.

But the Black Cats now face the challenge of keeping hold of their talented youngster with bitter rivals Newcastle looking to swoop in.
With the Swede currently residing on Tyneside, a move to the Championship club could be the ideal choice were an offer to be made.
