Townsend was a threat all afternoon as Palace claimed back-to-back Premier League victories for the first time in 2016.
The England international failed to keep Newcastle in the Premier League last term despite his impressive form that saw him net four goals in 13 appearances for the Magpies, including a superb free-kick in the 1-0 victory over his current club at St. James’ Park.
