Manchester United remain at the top of the Premier League table after beating Southampton 2-0 at Old Trafford on Friday evening.
Two goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic either side of half-time saw the Red Devils emerge as victors over the Saints and maintain their perfect start to the new season.
World record signing Paul Pogba also made his first Man United appearance since his £89m switch from Juventus earlier in the month.
And despite losing the match, Southampton controlled the opening stages with Shane Long, Dusan Tadic and Nathan Redmond all having opportunities to give their side the lead.
But it was United who went ahead in the 36th minute as Zlatan Ibrahimovic rose highest to head home Wayne Rooney’s cross to grab his second goal in as many Premier League games.
The score remained 1-0 until half-time but soon after the break Ibrahimovic doubled the Red Devils’ lead from the penalty spot after full-back Luke Shaw was felled inside the area by Saints’ midfielder Jordy Clasie.
