Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga has said that Ryan Mason’s training yesterday was ‘intense’ and ‘good’ on Twitch TV.

Tanganga is yet to feature for Tottenham since Mason was placed in charge, and has not even been dropped from their squad in their last two Premier League matches.

The defender was complimentary of Mason’s training though, as Spurs gear up to face Wolves on Sunday.

“Training was good today, it was quite intense. Today was bigger areas, so a lot of running and work about the game on Sunday,” Tanganga said.

“Training was good, competitive with the game at the end and my team won as well, so that was good!”

Tanganga’s words back up recent claims that Tottenham’s players really are enjoying training under Mason.

Mason has opted to go with experience at the back throughout his time at Tottenham so far, so Tanganga may not have a great chance of playing at the weekend.

Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld appear to be Mason’s trusted central defensive pairing, while Serge Aurier has started at right-back.

Tanganga may be hoping that he features more under whoever Tottenham’s next manager is.

Spurs are still looking for a permanent replacement for Jose Mourinho, after he left the club last month.
