West Ham United fans have been left less than impressed by Aaron Cresswell’s comments on Declan Rice to TalkSPORT.

Cresswell was meant to compliment Rice’s ability, when he was speaking about his West Ham teammate.

However, he suggested that the England international would be an even better player with higher quality teammates.

“I think as sitting midfield, there isn’t many as good as him in the country,” he said.

“If he does leave, he could get to another level with better players around him.”

And the left-back’s words have not gone down well with West Ham fans, who are worried that they could encourage Rice to leave.

West Ham will almost certainly face a fight to keep hold of Rice at the end of the season.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed an excellent campaign, with his reputation continuing to increase.

Rice has proven his ability to play in both defence and midfield, and if West Ham do fail to stay in the Premier League this season then it could be practically impossible to keep him.
