Celtic fans back Leigh Griffiths to come good.

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths is in contention to feature this weekend after making his comeback against Manchester City in midweek.

Griffiths had missed the last three weeks of action and came off the bench at The Etihad in the 1-1 Champions League draw.

The striker had a half-chance but could not net the winner, and expressed his feelings after the game on Twitter, commenting that he was pleased to be back but was frustrated not to score.

Griffiths, 26, scored 40 times for Celtic last season but this campaign he has had to play second fiddle to summer signing and emerging talent Moussa Dembele.

He has nine goals in 19 games in all competitions, but new manager Brendan Rodgers has been reluctant to play the duo together, meaning time on the bench for Griffiths.

Dembele, 20, drew a blank in midweek and despite his outstanding goal return of 17 this season, he has also failed to score in his last four league matches.

Responding to Griffiths’ message, Celtic fans have given their backing to the striker, suggesting he should replace Moussa Dembele this Friday against Partick Thistle…
