Alan Shearer has raved about reported Arsenal target and West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice on PremierLeague.com for his performance against Nottingham Forest at London Stadium in the Premier League this past weekend.

The Newcastle United legend was hugely impressed by Rice, who has been linked with a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the summer transfer window, and has included the England international midfielder in his Premier League Team of the Week.

The Hammers beat the Reds 4-0 in the league on Saturday.

Rice scored for David Moyes’s side in the 78th minute.

It was the 24-year-old midfielder’s eighth goal in his Premier League career and his second in the league this season.

According to The Daily Mail, Arsenal are determined to sign Rice from London and Premier League rivals West Ham in the summer of 2023 and could prioritise him over fellow midfielder Moises Caicedo of Brighton and Hove Albion.

TalkSPORT journalist and presenter Jim White has said that West Ham want as much as £120 million plus add-ons for the midfielder in the summer transfer window.

Journalist Dean Jones told GiveMeSport this month that Arsenal are willing to break their transfer record for Rice and make him their most expensive signing.
