As Super Bowl LX approaches, Drake Maye has been balancing intense preparation with the whirlwind of media duties that come with the biggest week in the NFL calendar.

Alongside questions about tactics and pressure, the Patriots quarterback has also been asked about his sporting interests away from American football.

One global name from European football came up during those conversations.

Harry Kane, the England captain and Bayern Munich striker, has long been one of the most recognisable figures in world sport.

Drake Maye explains why he’s a fan of Harry Kane

Speaking ahead of Super Bowl LX, Maye made it clear that Kane is a soccer player he greatly admires.

“How about that? Harry Kane is a baller,” Maye said on Bundesliga’s Instagram after receiving a signed Bayern shirt from the striker.

“I’m a big fan of Harry Kane. He’s one of my favourite players to play with on EA FC. I love playing with Harry Kane. He is a baller. Thanks, Harry.”

The comments reflected a genuine appreciation rather than a throwaway remark.

Kane’s status as one of the most consistent goalscorers of his generation has earned him fans across different sports, and Maye is clearly one of them.

It was a light moment during a high-pressure week, but it also highlighted how global football stars resonate with NFL players.

Harry Kane has already spoken about a surprising NFL ambition

Interestingly, Kane himself has previously spoken about a potential connection to the NFL later in his career.

While his focus remains firmly on football, he has admitted that the idea of becoming an NFL kicker is something he has thought about.

“That’s at least something that I have in the back of my mind,” Kane once told Sports Illustrated.

“I have the feeling that I still have many, many years ahead of me as a footballer, but so much can happen.

“Things change so quickly. As I get closer to the end of my football career, I might take a closer look and start practising a bit.”

Kane added that the challenge of competing at the highest level in two sports would appeal to him.

“Making it to the highest level in two different sports, soccer and football, would be a good idea, something very special.”

For now, Kane remains focused on trophies in Europe, while Maye prepares for the biggest game of his young NFL career.
