Dougie Freedman looks ahead to today’s Championship game between Norwich City and Nottingham Forest at Carrow Road.

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman has highlighted on the club’s official website the main threat posed by Norwich City today.

Norwich will host Forest at Carrow Road in the Championship this afternoon and will be favourites heading into the game.

The Canaries have been in good form in recent weeks, although two successive draws have left them five points behind leaders Watford in fourth place in the league table.

Freedman is under no illusion about the magnitude of the threat posed by Norwich today, and he has picked out one big strength of Alex Neil’s team.

“It should be a fantastic game, there’s no doubt about it,” the Scot told Forest’s official website. “Norwich are a very good side and they’ve picked up since the new manager went there.

“They’ve got a fantastic squad and they’ve got goals in the team – that’s the main thing. If Norwich can cope with what we do, credit to them.

“We’ve got to make sure we go there and perform the way we’ve been performing, and I see no reason why we won’t.

“The key to this game is to make sure we concentrate and take our chances when they come along – and I do believe they’ll come along.”

Norwich have scored 73 goals in 38 Championship games so far this season – only leaders Watford and third-placed Bournemouth have scored more.

Playing at home will give the Canaries an advantage, and they will be keen to return to winning ways.

Forest, though, should head into the match at Carrow Road with confidence, having seven won out of 10 games under Freedman, who replaced Stuart Pearce as the Reds boss at the start of February.

If the Nottingham-based outfit can hold their own in the opening minutes and not concede an early goal, then they can certainly pick up a point at Norwich, maybe even more.
