Arsenal-owned Chuba Akpom is in line to make his debut for Nottingham Forest against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Championship on Friday.

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman has suggested on the club’s official website that Chuba Akpom could feature against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday.

The youngster is available to play for Forest after completing a loan move from Premier League outfit Arsenal last month.

Due to the international break, Akpom has yet to make his debut for the Reds, and many would expect him to turn out against Wolves in the Championship clash at the City Ground tomorrow.

Freedman has now suggested that he could give the 19-year-old some playing time against Wolves, while giving an injury update on striker Matty Fryatt.

“Matty Fryatt is still struggling,” the Scot told Forest’s official website. “He’s feeling his Achilles a little bit.

“He’s been fine running and moving but he’s not ready. And I feel with young Chuba and Tyler (Walker) there’s no need to rush him.”

Antigua and Barbuda international striker Dexter Blackstock is also available for tomorrow’s game, as confirmed on Forest’s official website.

This is a huge positive for Forest, who have struggled with injuries to their key attackers in recent weeks.

While Freedman will not be putting too much pressure on Akpom and Walker just yet, the fact the the two are fit and available gives the Forest boss an extra layer of security.

Blackstock has not exactly been in a great form this season, but he remains a recognised striker who has the potential to deliver the goods.

The 28-year-old has scored three goals and created 11 chances in 15 Championship appearances this campaign, while having a pass accuracy of 50% and a shot accuracy of 46%.

Forest are currently ninth in the Championship table with 57 points from 39 matches, 10 points behind sixth-placed Ipswich Town.
