Leeds United have been linked to Everton duo.
Everton’s prolific deadline day could be good news for Leeds United and their pursuit of Toffees players.
Leeds are still permitted to sign players on loan from Premier League clubs until the end of August, and have been linked to Everton defender Matthew Pennington and midfielder Muhamed Besic.
Besic almost slipped away, with Everton agreeing a fee to sell him to Middlesbrough before the deal broke down due to a disagreement with his agent.
Middlesbrough are still hopeful of signing him on loan, The Teesside Gazette report, but for Leeds it remains just as viable.
Their hopes may be helped by their interest in signing Everton teammate Matthew Pennington too.
Everton were busy on deadline day, signing Colombia international centre-back Yerry Mina on a permanent deal, and midfielder Andre Gomes on loan.
Mina further blocks Pennington’s first team path, and Gomes makes Besic’s life more difficult.
Neither player had much chance as it was, and now Everton will take extra focus trying to shift them on.
If Leeds can concentrate their efforts on a double loan deal, it suddenly looks even more viable than it day 24 hours ago.
