Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic has lauded Manchester City striker Erling Haaland for how he managed to score the winning goal in the Bundesliga side’s 2-1 loss to the reigning English champions.
Speaking to the press via GGFN, the 39-year-old coach couldn’t help but praise the former Dortmund star for how he took his goal that secured the three points for City and completed the comeback at the Etihad Stadium, with the visitors leading through Jude Bellingham before John Stones’ thunderbolt and Haaland’s incredible finish.
The £51m summer signing from Dortmund has been on a goalscoring tear since joining City, with Haaland now on 13 goals in just eight fixtures this season as the Norweigian striker looks set to lead the Manchester giants to success in both the Premier League and in the UEFA Champions League.
And now, Haaland has punished his former side, with the 22-year-old’s outrageous finish last night a killer blow for Dortmund after a strong display against one of the favourites for the European title, and for Terzic, he admitted the goal was only something the forward could have done.

Indeed, Haaland’s athleticism has made the striker one of the most dangerous goalscorers in football, and if the City star can remain fit, there’s a strong chance that the former Dortmund star can guide the Manchester giants to their first Champions League title.
Terzic said: “Not many players in the world would score that goal. In recent years, we have benefited from him scoring goals like that for us. That makes it very frustrating and bitter that he did it for the opposing team today. We had the Man City attack under good control and almost entirely stopped the service to Erling.”
Haaland’s goal vs. Dortmund proves how dangerous City will be this season

Haaland’s goalscoring record is beginning to reach unimaginable heights, and the striker’s latest goal against Dortmund proved just how much of a weapon City have for the future, with the forward only going to get better from here.
After all, signing Haaland was made with the intention of having an attacker who can score a goal out of nothing, and the 22-year-old proved just that this week against Dortmund, who seemingly looked to have got something at the Etihad before Pep Guardiola’s comeback.
