Should Tottenham prioritise Malcom over Wilfried Zaha?

After signing Lucas Moura it appears Tottenham Hotspur may be ready to add another attacking talent in the summer.

The Times report Spurs remain keen on a move for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.

Palace will be resistant to a deal having tied Zaha to an extension last summer.

So it could come in handy that another player Tottenham are interested in is available to leave; Bordeaux winger Malcom.

The Mirror report Malcom is set to be sold this summer, with manager Gus Poyet conceding it is inevitable.

He said: “In January we were nervous because we almost lost him to the Premier League. We must prepare for this because sooner or later he will leave.”

Tottenham tried to sign Malcom in January, with Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte reporting they had a bid rejected.

What Spurs have to decide is whether Zaha is better and worth waiting for, as trying to sign him will be tougher than Malcom.

If they want Malcom, it is a deal they can start working on now.

Palace are not going to entertain discussions for Zaha until they are safe from relegation.

Zaha is proven in the Premier League and that should appeal to Tottenham, especially given their hit and miss signings from Ligue 1.

But Lucas Moura looks already to be a big hit, and Malcom might just go on to be even better.

In January Spurs signed Lucas as he was available and other targets were not. If they follow that same strategy then pushing for Malcom is certainly going to be easier than bringing Zaha in.
