Rangers must take big encouragement to bring Dominic Solanke to Ibrox.

England's forward Dominic Solanke celebrates his goal during the U-20 World Cup semi-final football match between England and Italy in Jeonju on June 8, 2017.

Rangers chances of bringing Dominic Solanke to Ibrox must have been enhanced by his snub this weekend.

Solanke was left out of Liverpool’s matchday squad for their Premier League opener against West Ham.

Rangers have been linked with signing Solanke all summer, with Gers boss Steven Gerrard having already signed two Liverpool players on loan, Ovie Ejaria and Ryan Kent.

Solanke struggled through pre-season for Liverpool and has fallen victim to Daniel Sturridge’s resurgence back into manager Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

The Daily Record reported over the weekend Rangers are hopeful of a deal for Solanke.

The English transfer window may be closed but Scottish side Rangers are still able to sign players.

Liverpool still have high hopes for Solanke and will not let the England under-20 World Cup winner leave on a permanent basis.

He needs to play regular football to develop his game and lift his confidence and a switch to Rangers could be in everybody’s best interests.
