There may have been some concern among Aston Villa fans when the rumour broke that Fenerbahce were in talks to sign top-scorer Jonathan Kodjia.
Not only that, but according to Turkish source Fotospor the striker would be joining on a season-long loan; a deal that would seem mad for Villa to accept.

Well luckily for the Villans faithful it looks as if there is nothing in the rumours, with chairman Dr Tony Xia responding to a question about the Kodjia deal on Twitter.
Xia has just undergone a heart operation, but still took time out to rubbish the talk linking Kodjia with a move away from Villa Park just a year after joining from Bristol City.

It has been a good first 12 months in Birmingham for the 27-year-old as well, who scored 19 goals in 36 Championship matches for Steve Bruce’s side.
Having paid the Robins £15m for Kodjia’s services and with him then responding with a good goal return, it would have seemed crazy if Villa had allowed the Ivory Coast international to leave for Turkey on-loan.
