The Crystal Palace winger is reportedly attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Eagles boss Roy Hodgson spoke to reporters today, ahead of his side’s FA Cup clash with Brighton and Hove Albion on Monday night, and delivered an emphatic message to any club who has intentions of making a move for Wilfried Zaha this month, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London.

The 25-year-old winger has been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park this month, with the Sun claiming that he might be allowed to leave if an offer of around £40 million came in for him.

Spurs are one of the clubs credited with an interest in Zaha, according to the Independent, but their hopes of signing him this month appear to have received a blow after Hodgson’s comments today.

The 70-year-old spoke to reporters today, and issued a warning to any potential suitors for Zaha’s signature, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London:

Roy Hodgson manager

“It’s not a case of me expecting or not expecting offers for Wilf Zaha, all I’ve said is I can understand him catching the eye. We have no interest in selling him, so I’d advise those thinking of making offers to not waste the price of a phone call.”

As is so often the case, however, things can quickly change in football, and it would be interesting to see if Palace’s stance on Zaha changed, if Tottenham actually came in with a substantial bid for the winger this month.
