Jamie Carragher has taken issue with Gary Neville’s comments about Leeds United on Monday Night Football, as broadcast on Sky Sports.

Neville said that he simply wouldn’t criticise Leeds for their style of play, despite their heavy defeat to Manchester United, with the comments available to view here.

The Whites were beaten 6-2 in their latest outing, but Neville remained complimentary of Leeds after the contest.

However, Carragher took a slightly different view to his fellow pundit.

And he said that Leeds shouldn’t be praised for failing to tweak their tactical style, even when they would benefit from a change.

“The only thing I would take you up on that is that you have nothing critical to say about them,” he said.

“Playing the way they do, you just said that was amazing for Manchester United. For me, that’s not positive.

“I’m not a big believer in someone playing exactly the same way week in, week out, no matter who you play against. Some people love that, I don’t.

“It is a breath of fresh air. But to have that midfield empty against Manchester United, I don’t think that’s right.”

Regardless of results it seems highly unlikely that Bielsa is going to change his tactical plan any time soon.

Leeds may have suffered some heavy defeats this term, but they have competed well in their first season back in the top flight.

The Whites are the highest placed of any of the newly promoted sides and currently sit in 14th place in the Premier League table.
