Some Tottenham fans on Twitter have been questioning Jose Mourinho’s view that Japhet Tanganga’s best position is at right-back.
The Portuguese manager has stated that the defender is best utilised as a wide player, but it seems as though many Spurs fans think he is better off being a centre-back.
It’s understandable that Tottenham fans may think this, after all, he has played more often as a centre-half than as a full-back, but Mourinho watches him train everyday, so you have to put some weight into the manager’s view.
Unfortunately for Tanganga, right-back is a very competitive spot in the Tottenham side, with Matt Doherty and Serge Aurier both strong options in that position.
In any case, fans don’t believe that he should be playing in that role, stating that he would be best utilised in another position.
Of course, Tanganga is only young, so there’s still a lot of time for Mourinho and the Tottenham coaching staff to mould him into the player they want him to be on the training ground.
It’s certainly interesting to see that the manager disagrees with the fans on one of the club’s brightest young talents.
