Richard Keys has written on Twitter that he could envisage Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte moving to Manchester United this summer – if Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Old Trafford.

Conte’s future at Tottenham has been plunged into some doubt this week.

The Italian manager gave a scathing interview to Sky Italy about what he feels was a poor transfer window for the North Londoners.

The 52-year-old claimed that he feels as if his squad had been ‘weakened’ as a result of the business that Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici did throughout the winter transfer window.

Prior to joining Tottenham, Conte, who won a Serie A title with Inter Milan last season, was linked with replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.

And former Sky Sports presenter Keys has claimed on Twitter that he could see the no-nonsense manager quitting the Lilywhites in favour of the Red Devils, particularly if Ronaldo moves on this summer.

Resolution

Tottenham need to resolve this situation as soon as possible to ensure Conte is satisfied to stay in North London.

He is probably the biggest managerial appointment that Spurs have ever achieved.

Yes they hired Jose Mourinho in 2019, but a Jose Mourinho in decline.

Conte, on the other hand, won a major title as recently as May, before leaving San Siro.

If the former Chelsea manager can quit Inter Milan directly after winning a Scudetto, he can do the same at Tottenham and Levy needs to make sure that he’s content to stay beyond this season.
