West Ham United fans have messaged Dimitri Payet, after he posted a video of his best clips in a Hammers’ shirt.

A compilation of Payet’s skills and goals during his time with the Hammers was shown on Twitter, with the Marseille midfielder responding.

And the post from Payet was enough to have West Ham fans dreaming of better days.

While some Hammers supporters urged Payet to come back, others were questioning what might have been if the Frenchman had stuck around.

Payet left West Ham in 2017 and the way he engineered his exit still rankles with the London Stadium crowd.

Payet was clearly West Ham’s star player, but the appeal of going back to Marseille was too much and he rather forced through a move.

West Ham has actually been tentatively linked with a move back to London recently, but that move does seem unlikely.

Throughout his time at West Ham Payet made 60 appearances in total, scoring 15 times.
