Manchester City have reportedly shifted their attention from Harry Kane to Erling Haaland ahead of the January transfer window.
According to the print edition of AS (05/10, p12), super-agent Mino Raiola has begun efforts to find his client a new club. Haaland is highly expected to depart Borussia Dortmund when his £75m release clause kicks in in 2022.
The attacker is arguably the hottest property in world football, with the 21-year-old attacker already one of the best finishers in Europe. And for City, they’ve set their sights on Haaland.
As we know, Kane was at the top of City’s transfer list this summer. But a move for the England captain never materialised due to Daniel Levy digging in his heels for the attacker.
With Haaland seven years younger than Kane and on course to become one of the best players in the world, it makes logical sense for City to target the Dortmund star in January.
Indeed, competition will be fierce for the Norweigian attacker. The likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also keen on Haaland, but City could well be the favourites given their finances and need for a striker.
City fans beg club to make January move for Haaland

And on Twitter, fans on social media are begging City to sign Haaland in Janaury. The striker grew up as a supporter of the club, with his father a player for the Manchester club in the 1990s.
Here’s what some supporters had to say on Twitter about this latest update on Haaland…
