Raheem Sterling has told talkSPORT that the ‘most important thing’ to do is not ‘check anything’ amid rumours linking him with Arsenal and Tottenham.

The Daily Mail claimed that Sterling’s bad form in Manchester City colours has resulted in Arsenal wanting to sign him and Tottenham’s name also being mentioned.

With Harry Kane’s future up in the air at Tottenham, it seems as though the England speedster has been offered to Spurs, as Manchester City try to lure the Premier League’s highest goalscorer towards their direction.

And whilst all that talk circulates around the media, it seems as though Sterling is blocking all of that out and taking no notice.

“Do what they done before we had social media,” said Sterling.

“Don’t check anything, don’t look at anything. That’s the most important thing.”

When Sterling left Liverpool for Manchester City in a £49 million deal in 2015 (BBC Sport), it was met with surprise.

At the time, Sterling was still trying to make a name for himself in English football, but fast forward to today, and he has enjoyed many glorious years in Man City colours.

Sterling has stagnated during these past 12 months, hence the rumours about his future, but it would be one huge surprise if Arsenal cough up the money for his services.

Those in North London just lost a transfer battle with Aston Villa for Emiliano Buendia – a Championship player, so it would be one hell of a shock if they manage to land the talents of a current Premier League winner.

And whilst someone like Sterling has seemingly been offered to Tottenham, they don’t have a manager yet and their fans would, no doubt, prefer Kane to stay rather than a number of Man City players landing on their doorstep in the place of their creative goalscorer.
