The large majority of Manchester City fans do not want Oleksandr Zinchenko to join Newcastle United.
Zinchenko to Newcastle?
The Northern Echo claims that Newcastle are looking at signing the Ukrainian, as Eddie Howe discusses plans to strengthen his squad.
Zinchenko has not featured a great deal for City this season, with his only two Premier League appearances coming from the substitutes’ bench.
However, City fans still do not want to see him leave them and join Newcastle, as he remains very popular at the Etihad Stadium.
Will Zinchenko leave?
Zinchenko has been through a lot with City to date.
He has won the Premier League three times with Pep Guardiola’s men, where he has become extremely popular.
If he was to join Newcastle he could be used in one of two positions.
Zinchenko has typically played at left-back for City, but Newcastle may have an eye on using him in a more advanced position.
He starts as a playmaker for Ukraine, and his creativity could certainly help Newcastle.
He has been labelled ‘incredible’ by Pep Guardiola before after-all.
Eddie Howe’s new side are firmly locked in a relegation battle, with the Tynesiders currently sat some way adrift of safety, so getting their recruitment right in January will be crucial to their survival chances.
