A number of West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to respond to Salomon Rondon’s potentially cryptic tweet, and many of the Baggies supporters have urged the Venezuelan to stay at The Hawthorns for the coming campaign.

Like a number of his teammates, Rondon has been linked with a move away from the Baggies this summer. The Express and Star recently reported that Newcastle are one team interested in signing the 28-year-old, whose contract includes a £16.5 million release clause.

It has been a tough summer for Darren Moore. Sam Johnstone has been the only signing, while Ben Foster and Jonny Evans have both secured immediate returns to the Premier League – and it would probably not surprise many supporters if the pair were not the last to leave the club before their Championship campaign kicks off.

But it certainly appears that the West Brom fans are desperate for Rondon to not be one of those who moves on. The former Zenit star’s record may not jump off the page, but he has provided a decent return of goals from each of his three seasons with the Baggies and many feel that he would take the Championship by storm.

So it is little surprise that when Rondon posted a picture of himself in West Brom training kit on Twitter but did not include any words in the tweet, it prompted a passionate response from the supporters.

Some felt that it may have been a cryptic way of suggesting that he may be sticking around for the coming season – though that could still largely be taken out of West Brom’s hands due to his release clause – but the majority used it as an opportunity to urge him to stick around and spearhead the Baggies’ promotion push.
