Earlier today, Ivan Toney – a target for Arsenal and Liverpool – stole the show as he secured three vital points for Brentford in the Premier League.

The £5m man scored in the 85th minute and the 93rd minute to push the Bees closer to survival, and shove Burnley in the opposite direction.

In particular, Toney did one thing which amazed BBC pundit Dion Dublin, who couldn’t believe his eyes.

What’s the story?

Well, the 25-year-old stunned Dublin with his penalty technique in the 93rd minute.

Toney got the better of Nick Pope by watching the England international all the day, without even glancing at the ball once.

It is a truly incredible way to take a spot-kick, and Dublin was very impressed.

The 52-year-old said: “Ivan Toney backs himself. It’s one of the hardest things to do – to have a short run up and not look at the ball. He watches the keeper – I don’t know how he does it.”

Dublin had more praise to aim at Toney, emphasising how good the former Newcastle man’s positioning inside the penalty area is.

The BBC pundit added: “We know how good Ivan Toney is. We know he will be in the right area at the right time.”

It was Football London who revealed that Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing Toney – the Premier League duo must’ve been impressed by what they saw.

Ivan Toney would thrive at Arsenal or Liverpool

It doesn’t even feel like Toney has got going in the Premier League yet, although he’s still outscoring some huge names.

The Northampton-born frontman has now scored 11 goals in all competitions, with nine of those coming in the Premier League.

That is more than Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and Bruno Fernandes have managed to score, which speaks volumes.

Keep an eye on this situation, as we wouldn’t be surprised to see Mikel Arteta or Jürgen Klopp make a move for Toney this summer.
