Michael Owen told Premier League Productions (28/12/21 at 10:00 pm) that Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish should win Player of the Season.
With ten assists to the boyhood Villa fan’s name this season, and counting, it has been yet another outstanding campaign from the quick-footed creator.
On top of his assists, Grealish is carrying the ball the furthest and creating the most chances than anyone in England’s top-flight.
After debating whether the likes of Ruben Dias, Ilkay Gundogan, or Bruno Fernandes should be POTS, Owen pushed for Grealish’s name.
“I am going to go with Grealish,” said Owen. “I think he has been brilliant. I don’t think you need to be at Manchester City or Manchester United to win it.
“So, I am going to go for Jack Grealish. But we have plenty of time until the vote is cast, so my mind can change, in the meantime.”

A lot does depend on how the season ends for both Grealish and Villa because if he gets them into Europe then it will increase his chances of getting that award.
One thing is for sure, the thriving playmaker is in with a shot, but he has some serious competition on his hands.
Someone like Dias has absolutely transformed Man City’s defence and if their 20-win streak becomes crazier, and they continue to remain resolute at the back, then there is only one place that award is heading at the end of the season.
