Aston Villa have already signed a midfield talent from a promoted club this summer in Emiliano Buendia, whilst they are interested in another from Watford.

The Athletic did report last month that Villa were keen on Will Hughes from Watford – and it seems as though the news has filtered to Ben Foster, who urged him ‘don’t go to Villa’, as you can see on his YouTube channel.

The English goalkeeper has become a popular figure on social media platforms for his growing channel ‘Ben Foster – The Cycling GK’ where he provides inside content to supporters.

From how he goes about his matchday routine, in-game footage of him playing in goal, amongst other stuff.

And on Thursday, Watford returned to pre-season training, with Foster providing backstage content.

After four minutes of his video posted on his YouTube channel, Foster first spoke about how Villa’s Jack Grealish, alongside Xherdan Shaqiri of Liverpool, have ‘bigger calves’ than him.

But at the start of the video, Foster is meeting his fellow teammates, as they returned to pre-season.

He stated “Look who is here,” as he made reference to Hughes, who responded with expletives.

Foster then added: “We are all sweaty, we don’t care. Will Hughes is in the house, everybody. Don’t go Villa, Will. Do not go Villa. Stay here. Stay here!”

On paper do Villa really need Hughes? Not really.

And if they are going to push for another midfielder then they are better of signing someone with a bit more midfield presence and height because that’s what is missing in this Villa side.

Or they can try and lure James Ward-Prowse towards their direction because the set-piece expert is seemingly attracting the interest of those from the West Midlands.
