Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was announced that Kalvin Phillips had been named in the England squad by Gareth Southgate.
What’s the story?
Well, the Leeds fans aren’t too happy about Phillips receiving a call-up on this occasion.
While it’s usually a source of pride for Leeds fans to see their No.23 play for the Three Lions, they’d rather he didn’t this time around.
That is mainly due to the fact Phillips has struggled with injuries in recent weeks, and Leeds fans would rather see him rested.
The 17-cap England international missed the 1-0 defeat to Southampton on October 16th with a calf injury.
Phillips was then only fit enough for a place on the bench as Leeds drew 1-1 with Wolves in the following game.
The 25-year-old then managed to play 90 minutes, and provide an assist, as Leeds beat Norwich 2-1.
Kalvin Phillips needs to get sharp for Leeds

You can understand why the Leeds fans are complaining, as Southgate doesn’t exactly need his best players to overcome Albania and San Marino.
However, it’s actually a good thing that Phillips will be facing nations of this quality over the international break.
In our view, it will give him a chance to get some match sharpness under his belt, against opponents who shouldn’t make his life too difficult, with all due respect.

Then, when he returns to face Tottenham on November 21st, Marcelo Bielsa should have a much sharper Phillips at his disposal.
For now, let’s see what the Leeds fans on Twitter have been saying about the situation…
