Uli Koehler has claimed that Bayern Munich see Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane, as an option next summer when he has one year left on his contract, as he told Sky Sports.

The Sky reporter from Germany added that Bayern are sending a transfer message to the Tottenham hitman by telling him ‘don’t forget us’ and how Germany is a ‘great’ place to live.

Last summer, Spurs fans had to go through all that talk of Manchester City, Kane’s golf trip with Gary Neville, and then the player turning up late for pre-season training.

And whilst this summer was going all smoothly with Antonio Conte’s first full season to look forward to and Champions League football, a certain German giant have started to make noises.

That did upset Conte who labelled it ‘disrespectful’, as he wasn’t happy with Julian Nagelsmann expressing interest in the player to the media, but Koehler shared that the Bayern boss’s intentions weren’t meant that way.

“It’s no secret that Bayern needs a centre-forward since Lewandowski is not here anymore,” said Koehler “But this is a long-term project because, the problem is the money.

“Bayern doesn’t have all the money to get close to Harry Kane, whatever the club wants and whatever he wants. They had a great transfer summer and there is no money left, at the moment.

“But this is something for the future because maybe they know that the contract of Kane is not prolonged anymore. He will run out (in one year by the time next summer comes along), so Bayern are interested in him.

“What Conte said ‘okay he had to say that’. Nagelsmann just said that ‘he was a good player and they are interested in any good player who is a possibility to come to Bayern’. But I think Conte wants to tell that he is (staying) for the coming year with Tottenham and I think there’s a big chance. However, if they get to the Champions League, then it’s harder to get Harry Kane (next summer).

“They (Bayern) are saying ‘hey, Harry this is Bayern Munich don’t forget us. Even next year when you are looking for a nice club in a nice area, in a great country, then come over’. That’s the reason why.”

KANE SET TO TURN 29…

On Thursday, July 28th, Kane will celebrate his 29th birthday and he will be wishing for nothing but trophies ahead of the new Premier League season.

For a player of his ilk to go that long without a trophy, even a domestic honour, is baffling, but that’s why Conte is now in the dugout.

Those at Hotspur Way won’t fear one bit about losing the soon-to-be England highest goalscorer this summer, but they can’t provide fuel for the interested parties next season.

If a trophy isn’t won, then the likes of Bayern and Chelsea will get giddy and they will think they can then lure the Englishman in their direction.

But, as things stand, with two devesting goalscorers on their books and a world-class manager, it’s not going to get much better than this for Spurs to lift silverware.
